This small-group tour combines two of North Queensland’s most iconic experiences — the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway and the award-winning Skyrail Rainforest Cableway — with free time to explore Kuranda village at your leisure.

🚂 Travel to Kuranda on the Scenic Railway

Guests are collected from their accommodation in Port Douglas from 8:00am and transferred to Freshwater Station, where they’ll board the heritage-listed Kuranda Scenic Railway. This breathtaking journey winds through lush rainforest, past waterfalls, and into the stunning Barron Gorge, with spectacular views along the way.

🛍️ Explore Kuranda Village

Upon arrival in Kuranda, your guide will be waiting to assist and provide a brief overview of the village. Enjoy approximately two hours of free time to wander the markets, browse local galleries, or relax in one of the many cafés (meals at own expense).

Want to visit the Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld or the Koala Gardens? These are available to add to your ticket at the time of booking. Wanting a special experince – book the guided tour option for Birdworld and the Koala Gardens. Includes a Koala petting photo.

🚠 Return via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

After your time in the village, soar above the rainforest canopy aboard the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. This immersive experience includes two scenic stops along the way, offering elevated views, rainforest boardwalks, and interpretive displays.

🌴 Palm Cove Stopover

Before returning to Port Douglas, the tour includes a short stop at Palm Cove. Guests can stretch their legs, take a walk along the esplanade, or enjoy a drink by the beach (at own expense).

Guests return to Port Douglas by approximately 4:30pm.
