This tour is suitable for guests with a basic level of fitness. The experience includes only short, easy walks designed to be accessible and enjoyable for most travellers. Please note that some sections of the journey take place on 4WD tracks, which can be bumpy at times. Guests should also be comfortable spending time outdoors and consider the heat throughout the day, particularly during warmer months

Bring all required medications for the duration of the trip. If refrigeration is required, please note this in advance so arrangements can be made.

Pickups start from Cairns CBD at 7:30 am. Return to your Cairns City Hotel before 6pm.

ou will stay in a classic outback-style hotel for 1 night and a modern holiday park offering comfortable, fully equipped cabins for the remaining two nights. Each cabin features a private bathroom, air-conditioning, and television ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable stay while immersing yourself in the unique charm of the Australian outback.

These Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy apply to bookings made directly with Australian Adventure Group Holdings Pty Ltd trading as Discovery Tours Australia (the Operator, DTA, we or us) via our website, phone, or email. Please note that bookings made through third-party platforms may be subject to different terms and cancellation policies set by those providers.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees apply as follows:

• More than 61 days prior to departure: 10% per person
• 60 to 46 days prior to departure: 25% of the total tour cost
• 45 to 31 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost
• 30 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of the total tour cost

Transfers & Itinerary Adjustments

• Passengers will be picked up and returned to accommodation as arranged at the time of booking.
• Discovery Tours Australia (DTA) reserves the right to alter the itinerary, accommodation arrangements, or transport providers due to weather conditions, road closures, mechanical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Substitutions may include alternate vehicles, carriers, or operators.
• A fuel surcharge may be imposed in the event of a significant increase in fuel costs.
• Itineraries are accurate at the time of publication; however minor variations may occur as we continuously seek to enhance the tour experience. No refunds will be provided for itinerary changes.

Timing & Liability

• Exact arrival and departure times cannot be guaranteed. DTA is not liable for missed connections with other services or for any expenses incurred due to delays caused by weather, mechanical defects, or other unforeseen events.
• If the itinerary is altered for any reason, no refund is payable.

Emergency levies & fuel surcharges:

We reserve the right to impose a fuel surcharge, emergency levy or other cost adjustment (“Levy”) in the event of significant increases in operating costs beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, increases in fuel prices, government charges, or other essential inputs required to operate the tour.

• Where the average fuel cost increases by more than 25% from the date on which the relevant tour pricing was originally published or contracted, we may apply a Levy to affected bookings.
• The amount of any Levy will be reasonably determined by us based on the increased cost of fuel (or other relevant input costs) attributable to each specific departure and will be calculated on a per passenger basis.
• Any applicable Levy may be payable at the time of booking, prior to departure, at check-in or on departure, as advised.
• Where a Levy is applied after confirmation, and the resulting price increase is material, any cancellation fees normally applicable under our standard terms and conditions will not be charged.

Passenger Conduct & Safety

• DTA may exclude, without compensation, any passenger who reasonably:
  • Endangers their own health or safety
  • Compromises the health, safety, or comfort of others
  • Commits any illegal act
• DTA accepts no liability for loss, damage, injury, or death resulting from another passenger’s actions or omissions.

Accommodation

• While due care is taken in selecting accommodation providers, DTA accepts no liability for loss, damage, injury, or death occurring at these premises.
• DTA reserves the right to change accommodation providers without prior notice and will endeavour to secure substitute accommodation of comparable quality.

Force Majeure

DTA shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms if caused by an event beyond that party’s reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”). Force Majeure Events include, but are not limited to:

• Acts of God (storms, floods, cyclones, earthquakes)
• Pandemics, epidemics, quarantine restrictions
• War, terrorism, civil commotion, or riot
• Strikes, lockouts, or industrial disputes
• Government laws, regulations, emergency declarations, or travel bans
• Major breakdowns of equipment, utilities, or infrastructure

In such an event:

• DTA may suspend or modify the itinerary, transfers, or services without liability.
• Passengers must accept reasonable alternative arrangements offered.
• No refunds or compensation will be payable for services already provided or for delays caused by the Force Majeure Event.

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance. Your travel insurance should provide cover for personal accident, death, medical expenses, and emergency repatriation, with a recommended minimum coverage of AUD$300,000 for each category. We also strongly recommend that it covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. Travel insurance is not included in your tour and is your responsibility to arrange.
